    Four Etiquettes

    【行如风】

    修道之人,举止动步,安详徐行,犹如清风徐拂。行进时,两眼平视,不左窥右瞄,不向外攀缘;移步时,勿踏虫蚁,勿仓仓惶惶,或令鞋履拖拉出声;当收摄身心,举止动步,心存正念,一切时中,定慧等持,如法而行。

    【立如松】

    站立之时,头颈不偏不倚,身躯挺直,安稳而立,犹如苍松,不可轻率、歪斜或抖动;当心存正念,随所住处,常念供养三宝、赞叹经法,系心在道,思惟经义,如法而立。

    【坐如钟】

    跏趺宴坐时,应摄心专注,身心安稳不动,犹如大钟。古德云:「身要放松,不得随便;心要专注,不得紧张。」切勿前倾、后仰或左右歪斜;当端肃威仪,息缘绝虑,观照自心,谛观实相,如法而坐。

    【卧如弓】

    修道之人,非时不卧;为调摄身心,若睡眠时,当右胁而卧,以右手曲肱为枕,左手平舒于腿,双腿微弓,两足相叠,名为吉祥卧,亦名狮子卧法。右胁而卧,于诸卧姿中,最为有益,能令身得安稳,心不动乱。律云:「仰卧,是修罗卧;覆卧,是饿鬼卧;左胁卧,是贪欲人卧。」是故修道人不仰卧、不覆卧、不左胁卧,应右胁而卧,保持正念,心无昏乱,如法而卧。

    【结论】

    具足威仪,身端行正,非仅限于佛门之行者,而是人人应具备之礼仪。我国素称「礼义之邦」,即是由于尊崇礼义、注重威仪之故。古德云:「行亦禅、坐亦禅,语默动静体安然。」佛陀时常教诫弟子,形仪必须端严肃整,内检其心,外束其身,无论动静举止,皆如法如律,如佛所教。
