April 27, 2025 | DAMI
With clear skies, gentle breezes, and a mild temperature of 13°C, spring is in full bloom—a perfect season for tree planting and renewal. Embracing this timely opportunity, DAMI organized a community-wide tree planting and beautification event, which gathered 25 participants and brought together the strength of many in a spirit of harmony and joyful cooperation.
Preparing the Ground with Mindfulness
By 8:30 AM, volunteers began arriving at the temple grounds. With thoughtful coordination, teams took measurements, dug planting pits in advance, and arranged water supplies and base fertilizers—all in preparation for the planting to come. The atmosphere was calm and orderly, embodying the Buddhist spirit of diligence and mindfulness.
Working Together with Joy
Around noon, under the warm spring sun, the planting officially began. Guided personally by Venerable Master, who not only offered instruction but also worked alongside everyone, the group moved together from the front garden to the rear courtyard. Each person fulfilled their role with care and enthusiasm. What was originally expected to take several days was mostly completed by just before 3 PM. The efficiency and cooperation left many pleasantly surprised.
The transformation was both immediate and striking—the temple grounds were refreshed, with lush green trees and colorful blossoms breathing new life into the sacred space.
Planting Bodhi, Cultivating Merit
In Buddhist teaching, planting trees is not only an act of environmental care—it is also a way of sowing seeds of virtue and merit. Each tree is a living offering, each blossom a manifestation of compassionate intention. Through this event, the community not only beautified the land but also cultivated a deeper spiritual connection and collective merit.
May the roots of these trees grow deep, their branches flourish, and their shade offer peace to all who visit. May those who participated and supported this effort be blessed with joy, harmony, and the boundless merit of their compassionate deeds.
